Imported As Custom Location / Customizing Field Labels
  • coreymj78coreymj78 January 10
Some of our clients are churches for example, so if I add a new location called "church" ? can I do a batch location switch to all records which are churches later? Or is there a way to match up the record's name, street, city, email, etc. to "church_street, church_email" etc in the import template file? In other words, when you create a new location, does batchbook include that as new column/tags in the import template so that batchbook will know what type of location the new imported records are?

All I see when I open my import template are business, home, and other for locations. Why is this? I have added "church" as a custom location, but why is it not included in the import template?

    thanks!

and could I also add "church" field beside the existing "company" field in case they are a church? or would I do that with a "church" supertag instead? I guess what I'm asking is, how would I customize field labels as opposed to just adding a supertag? I read this on your site:

"...changing the label of a field (for example, a church might choose to name a field “annual pledge” where a salesperson would prefer “contract value.”) "

    How can I do this?

I'd really love to keep my subscription active after 30 days, could I please get some answers?

Corey, I think you're going to get better service by emailing support directly. These forums are new, and they're called 'community forums' - I guess BatchBook intends them to be more of a place for community discussion rather than bona fide support forums.

Oh, good to know. I'm used to using "support forums" for this type of thing. Anyway, these forums are in your "customer support" area, so maybe it would be better suited somewhere else then. The thing is, I see other people posting technical questions and getting answers here, so all in all, your response is still somewhat confusing. Ah well.

    Corey,

I don't work for or speak for BatchBook. I've used BatchBook for a couple of years. My company offers consulting services involving, among other things, helping other companies set up BatchBook. We also build custom integrations with BatchBook's API.

Just wanted to make that clear :-)

Sweet. Yeah, I think it will be fine. I just created some additional supertags to at least capture the extra info when importing. Hopefully once there, we'll be able to do what we need to do with it eventually.

    thanks.
