How to put a birtday alarm into batchbook calender
  • I have added birthday date (as a yearly recurring date) as a field in one of my supertags.
I would like this date to be added to my bb calender and/or to receive a reminder if one of these birthday dates is about to occur.
Is this possible in Batch Book?

  • Has this been answered? I would like to be able to do the same.

    +1

I'd also like to know if this is supported and, if so, how it's accomplished.

    Thanks

Ah, I think I found what we're looking for. Like there are iCal feeds for To-Dos and Events, we need an iCal feed for SuperTag Dates. Then these can be included in our calendar of choice (Google Calendar in my case).

BatchBook, is that something you could look into implementing?

    Many thanks.

Super Tags is the way that we suggest that you monitor birthdays. Here is a link to a screen shot of how we would set it up.

Unfortunately there isn't a way to set up a reminder for this (Only to-dos can have a reminder e-mail sent out.) You can run reports on these Supertags, once a week or month and know who's got a birthday coming up. That way if you want to reach out to them you can. I know this isn't the daily reminder that you are all requesting but I wanted to give you what we did have for a workflow for birthdays.

  • I think just about everyone has some kind of recurring event they would like to keep track of.  It would be a great feature to add.  Frankly, I was surprised it was not one of the first things implemented.  The lack of this feature has pushed a significant part of my work flow outside of batchbook.  Disappointing.
